About me (:
# Meet Edi The FishHi, I'm Edi, though most friends know me as Fish.I'm an AIDA and Molchanovs Freediving Instructor , a CMAS Scuba Diving Instructor, and a lifelong waterman with one mission: helping people discover the freedom, confidence, and peace that come from being underwater. My journey spans both freediving and technical scuba diving. Over the years I've qualified as a deep diver, drysuit diver, decompression diver, Nitrox diver, gas blender, diving boat skipper, dive guide, and scuba divemaster.Today I work full-time at a diving centre as an instructor, dive guide, and skipper, spending nearly every day doing what I love most—being in the sea.But my story started long before I became an instructor.I grew up by the coast, where beaches, piers, and fishing boats were my playground. Some of my earliest memories are of diving beneath the surface as a child. By the age of five or six, I could already hold my breath longer than anyone around me. My parents often worried when I came back to shore with blue lips—I simply preferred being underwater to staying on the beach. As I got older, I discovered long fins and spearfishing. Every dive became an adventure, pushing me to explore deeper, stay longer, and better understand the underwater world. In my early twenties, I expanded my experience into scuba diving, training and diving in the Canary Islands, Croatia, and Ireland. Over the following decade I became deeply involved with a CMAS diving club, progressing through instructor training while gaining extensive experience in cold water, technical diving, and demanding sea conditions.Eventually, I returned to my first passion—freediving. To refine my skills, I trained with some of the world's leading freedivers, coaches, instructors, and judges, including Petar Klovar, Vitomir Maričić, Savvas Savva, Hussein Obaida, and Vincent Sparreboom. Their mentorship has shaped both my diving philosophy and my approach to teaching. My love for the ocean has taken me around the world. I've explored and dived in Egypt, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Croatia, Italy, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Cyprus, and many other beautiful destinations. Every coastline has taught me something new about the sea—and about myself.Today, my greatest passion is sharing that experience with others.Whether you're taking your very first breath-hold or working towards becoming a confident freediver, my goal is to create a safe, supportive, and enjoyable learning environment where you can progress at your own pace. For me, freediving is much more than reaching a certain depth. It's about connecting with the water, calming the mind, understanding your body, and experiencing the ocean in its purest form.I look forward to sharing that journey with you.
